We Are Making Progress

Much has been made back home about the Michael O'Hanlon and Kenneth Pollack (both of the Brookings Institute and both fervent Bush critics) op-ed in Monday's New York Times. Rather than formulating a "ditto" from scratch, I'll refer you instead to Jack Kelly's column in today's Stars and Stripes (as yet unavailable online). The money quote:
It's still to early to declare the "surge" a success. But it's becoming clear the war can be lost only in the halls of Congress. Which is what makes the O'Hanlon-Pollack article so important. When two such prominent Democratic foreign policy experts testify in The New York Times to the progress Petraeus has made, it is harder for Democrats in Congress to ignore it.
Kelly, a former Marine, Green Beret, and deputy asst. secretary of the Air Force, is the national affairs writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Toledo Blade.
